WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert warning for high levels of potentially toxic, taste and odour causing blue-green algae for Hume Dam at Ebden.

WaterNSW has lifted the blue-green algae Red Alert warning issued on 11 April 2025 for Quipolly Dam on behalf of Liverpool Plains Shire Council. Quipolly Dam currently now is on Amber Alert.

The Great Darling Anabranch crossing at the Silver City Highway remains on red alert for potentially toxic blue-green algae, even though the waterway has ceased to flow.

WaterNSW has lifted the blue-green algae red alert warning issued on 17 January 2025 for Macintyre River at Inverell, downstream of Inverell and Lake Inverell. Macintyre River at Inverell currently has no algae alert in place.
