Blue-green algae Red Alert for Quipolly Dam

WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert advisory for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for Quipolly Dam on behalf of Liverpool Plains Shire Council. Quipolly Dam is located approximately 10km North East of Quirindi.

WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert warning for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for the Lake Brewster Outlet Channel.

WaterNSW has issued a red alert warning for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for Lake Cargelligo as three locations: the inlet (town water source), Lake Cargelligo boat ramp and the Lake Cargelligo outlet at Lake Creek.

WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert warning for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for Toonumbar Dam, located in the north-east of the state, about 30 km west of Kyogle.

Blue-green algae Red Alert for the Hunter River upstream of Glenbawn Dam

WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert warning for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for the Hunter River upstream of Glenbawn Dam. The Red Alert will apply from Belltrees downstream to the upper reaches of the lake. The red alert does not apply to Lake Glenbawn. The current advice is based on satellite imagery indicating high levels of potential algal activity at the Hunter River upstream of Glenbawn Dam. Sampling at the site is to follow.

Blue-green algae Red Alert for Lake Menindee

WaterNSW has issued a precautionary Red Alert warning for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for Lake Menindee. The current advice is based on satellite imagery indicating high levels of algal activity across the lake’s surface. Sampling at the lake is to follow.

Blue-green algae Red Alert lifted for Fitzroy Falls Lake

WaterNSW has lifted the blue-green algae Red Alert warning issued on 17 December 2025 for Fitzroy Falls Lake, located about 20 kilometres south-east of Bowral. Fitzroy Falls Lake is now on Amber Alert.

WaterNSW has issued a precautionary Red Alert warning for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for Yanga Lake.

Precautionary algal alert issued for Darling River at Louth

WaterNSW has issued precautionary advice to people in the Louth area to avoid contact with the Darling-Baaka River due to the likelihood of high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae.
