WaterInsights, our digital water data platforms, reflect our commitment to sharing trusted, clear and up‑to‑date information about water resources and how we manage them.
With the WaterInsights website and app, you can easily access real‑time data and insights when and where they matter most - helping you stay informed and confident in the decisions you make.
WaterInsights offer comprehensive data from our own systems as well as from the Bureau of Meteorology (the Bureau), the Murray Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) and the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NSW DCCEEW) and selected Queensland and Victoria water utilities.
About the WaterInsights website
The WaterInsights website is interactive and easy to use. It allows you to create your own account to receive personalised notifications and alerts that matter to you, such as supplementary and uncontrolled flow access, temporary water restrictions, operational drought and flood risk indicator updates and blue-green algae alerts.

About the WaterInsights app
WaterInsights app is now live and available to download via Google Play and The App Store by searching WaterInsights.
A platform that brings together the key water information you need, in one place:
- State storage levels, with a map view, you have a clear snapshot of conditions across NSW
- Water sites overview, displaying the most recent data available
- Custom data views, toggle between list and map view and apply custom filters including ‘site type’
- Rainfall data, viewed by stream gauge and displayed as a graph or table, with hourly, daily or cumulative results
- Favourites, giving you quick access to your saved sites, with offline data access
- Information section for you to learn more about water data and how it can benefit you
