Blue-green algae red alert remains for Great Darling Anabranch at the Silver City Highway crossing

The Great Darling Anabranch crossing at the Silver City Highway remains on red alert for potentially toxic blue-green algae, even though the waterway has ceased to flow.

WaterNSW has lifted the blue-green algae red alert warning issued on 17 January 2025 for Macintyre River at Inverell, downstream of Inverell and Lake Inverell. Macintyre River at Inverell currently has no algae alert in place.
