WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert advisory for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for Toonumbar Dam in the north of the state. This alert has been issued based on the analysis of the latest satellite imagery. Algae samples will be collected to further validate the alert status.

The previously issued Red Alert level warning (high alert) for toxic blue-green algae has been cleared for Copeton Dam. Copeton Dam is now on Amber Alert.

Red, blue-green algal warning lifted for Lake Tandure near Menindee

The red alert warning for blue-green algae that was issued for Lake Tandure near Menindee was lifted following two consecutive laboratory algal reports which indicates that the lake is no longer on red alert for blue-green algae. Lake Tandure is now on amber alert for blue-green algae.
