Blue-green algae Red Alert lifted for Macintyre River at Inverell and Lake Inverell

The Red Alert warning issued on 23 January 2024 for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for the Macintyre River at Inverell and Lake Inverell has been lifted. Both sites are now on Green Alert.

WaterNSW has issued a Red Alert for high levels of potentially toxic blue-green algae for the Hunter River upstream of Glenbawn Dam, from Belltrees to the upper reaches of the lake. The red alert does not apply to Lake Glenbawn.

The Red Alert warning issued on 4 December 2023 for potentially toxic blue-green algae for Hume Dam at Frist Bay Creek crossing of the Murray Valley Highway near Tallangatta has been lifted. The storage is now on Amber Alert.

Blue-green algae Red Alert lifted for Pindari Dam

The Red Alert warning issued on 12 April for potentially toxic blue-green algae at Pindari Dam has been lifted. The storage is now on Amber Alert. The Severn River below Pindari Dam remains on Amber Alert.
