Andrew George - Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

Commenced: May 2020

Andrew GeorgeAndrew is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of WaterNSW, which is responsible for the supply of raw water to users throughout regional NSW and Greater Sydney, including to our largest customer, Sydney Water.

Andrew has held a number of Executive positions in WaterNSW since its inception in 2015, where he was part of the inaugural executive team and has since been involved in the strategic transformation of the NSW water sector.

Andrew has over 10 years’ experience in bulk water supply utilities with extensive experience in regulatory and market strategy, government relations, engineering, asset management, and major Infrastructure delivery.

Andrew is also a Director of WaterNSW Infrastructure Pty Ltd.

Joe Pizzinga - Executive Manager - Finance, Legal and Risk

Joe PizzzingaJoseph Pizzinga is an experienced financial leader, with a respected catalogue of Chief Financial Officer roles in the utilities industry. Joining WaterNSW in October 2017, Joe leads our Finance, Economic Regulation, Property, Fleet and Procurement functions. Joe and his team are focussed on supporting the business through strong financial leadership and supply chain management.

Joe’s aptitude for finance and business operations was finessed during his five years as CFO of Ausgrid, and nearly another five years prior to that at Endeavour Energy.

Joe is a Fellow of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants and has a degree in Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Business Law. Joe has also previously attended Harvard Business School where he undertook Harvard’s Advanced Management Program.

Alison Tweedale - a/Executive Manager - Digital

Alison TweedaleAlison is a seasoned executive leader with an extensive portfolio of experience spanning 25 years. Alison’s achievements have revolved around managing multi-disciplinary teams to drive successful business transformations.

Alison has an aptitude and passion for innovation that has been honed through her many years leading large-scale programs to transform digital ecosystems. This most recently included a major system upgrade at Transgrid to improve business collaboration and efficiency.

At WaterNSW, Alison is currently leading the Digital portfolio, overseeing the delivery of our ambitious digital strategies and ensuring a high performing, safe and enjoyable working environment for her teams.

David Stockler - Executive Manager - Customer Services

David StocklerDavid is a highly practised leader in the field of customer experience and operations, having developed his skills over many years working in the utilities and telecommunications sectors. David joined WaterNSW in early 2016 after serving in senior positions at Optus and AGL, amongst others.

At WaterNSW, David is responsible for all customer related functions including water ordering / sales, licensing and trade, contact centres, billing, credit, customer field services, and product development and insights.

In addition to his role at WaterNSW, David also serves on the Board of the NSW Energy & Water Ombudsman.

Fiona Smith - Executive Manager - Strategy and Performance

Fiona SmithFiona joined WaterNSW upon its formation, having worked for Sydney Catchment Authority - most recently as Executive General Manager - since the start of 2011. Fiona is responsible for the collection and management of water monitoring data across NSW, the use of this data to develop water quality and quantity models used for planning and operational needs and the WaterNSW Science Program to continue to develop our understanding of risks to water quality and catchment health. Fiona is also responsible for WaterNSW’s Land Management and Catchment Protection programs with a focus on managing the Greater Sydney Declared Catchment as part of our role to provide raw water for treatment and supply to customers.

Fiona has a Bachelor of Science (Resource and Environmental Management) from Macquarie University, an MBA (Technology Management) from Deakin University and is a Graduate of the AICD.

Ronan Magaharan - Executive Manager - Operations

Ronan MagaharanRonan is an experienced leader in Asset Management of heavy industrial plants, predominantly in the water and power generation industries.

Joining WaterNSW in early 2016 as Manager, Asset Maintenance and Services, Ronan was promoted to the position of Executive Manager Assets at WaterNSW in December 2018. He is responsible for our assets portfolio, including Asset Management, Dam Safety, Engineering, Maintenance, Asset Renewals and our Project Delivery functions.

Prior to WaterNSW, he worked at Snowy Hydro for eight years in a variety of engineering and senior management roles.

Beth Winchester - Executive Manager - Safety, People & Culture

Beth WinchesterBeth is an experienced senior leader across multiple business functions who started her career in Chartered Accounting. After several finance roles within the Lend Lease Group, Beth transitioned into human resources, holding positions that included Regional and Global leadership responsibilities. . Beth then became Executive General Manager People & Culture for Fuji Xerox Australia Pty Ltd where she was responsible for the Human Resources, Internal Communications and Property portfolios of the Australian operations for 12 years.

Since joining WaterNSW in 2018, Beth held the senior leadership role of Manager People and Culture with responsibility for the People and Culture function before moving to an acting Executive Manager Safety, People & Culture position in April 2021.

Beth holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW and is a CPA. Additionally, Beth has held a number of volunteer committee and board positions including serving on the KU Board for a 5-year term.

Clair Cameron – Executive Manager, Corporate Affairs

Clair CameronClair joined WaterNSW in 2022 to lead the Corporate Affairs portfolio. A highly practised senior leader, Clair has over 20 years’ experience leading Communications, Stakeholder Engagement and Public Affairs teams working on complex projects in the private and public sectors.

Clair is passionate about engaging stakeholders at all levels and advising at a strategic level on issues management and communications. Prior to joining WaterNSW, Clair spent six years in leadership roles at the NSW Environment Protection Authority, most recently as Director of Engagement and Public Affairs. Previously, she has also held senior communications positions for organisations including FTI Consulting and Meat and Livestock Australia.

At WaterNSW Clair is responsible for leading the Communications, Media, Aboriginal Engagement, Community Engagement and Stakeholder Relationship functions.

Clair has a BA Communication from Charles Sturt University, and a Master of Health Law from The University of Sydney.
