WaterNSW Board Chair Peter Duncan steps down
16 JUNE 2026Peter Duncan AM has stepped down from his role as Chair of the Board of Directors for WaterNSW.
Mr Duncan has been in the Board Chair role since his appointment in March 2022.
WaterNSW CEO Andrew George paid tribute to the outgoing Chair, whose breadth of experience, skills and expertise were invaluable to WaterNSW during his tenure.
“On behalf of WaterNSW, our customers and the communities we serve in NSW I would like to sincerely thank Peter for his contribution and leadership during his term as chair,” Mr George said.
“Importantly, Peter led a Board that was integral to the organisation successfully navigating the transformation process of the last 12 months, on the back of pricing challenges and in the broader economic and regulatory spheres.
“On a personal level I greatly enjoyed working with Peter and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Mr Duncan has over 40 years’ experience in government and infrastructure, working at local, state and national levels. He has held various senior public sector roles including local government, Premier and Cabinet, Transport for NSW, Primary Industries and for the Olympic Coordination Authority.
Mrs Victoria Taylor will serve as Presiding Director following Mr Duncan’s departure.
“Victoria Taylor has served on the WaterNSW Board since 2022 and continues to bring tremendous industry experience to our organisation.”
An announcement regarding the appointment of the new Chair will be made in due course.
