Extend your approval

We'll be in touch when your flood work, water supply work and/or water use approval is nearing its expiry date.

Approvals are granted for varying durations and have an expiry date. WaterNSW monitors the expiry date and will contact the holder before this date.

If you lodge an application to extend your approval before the expiry date, your approval remains in force until WaterNSW makes a determination to grant or refuse your application to extend your approval.

Steps

Step 1: Receive your letter

WaterNSW will send a reminder to approval holders about extending their approval before the expiry date. This letter includes a personal application number for you to use Water Applications Online (WAO) to apply and pay online.

If your letter does not include this number, you will need to fill in the hard copy application form posted to you with your letter.
