Jason Conroy appointed to WaterNSW Board

WaterNSW, the state’s dam operator, has confirmed the appointment of Jason Conroy to its Board of Directors.

WaterNSW Chair Peter Duncan welcomed the appointment of Mr Conroy, citing the breadth of experience, skills and expertise he will bring to the organisation from more than 30 years working with businesses in Australia and across the globe.

“Mr Conroy is a board member of power, engineering and manufacturing companies, and a former board member and CFO of ASX listed and private companies in the energy infrastructure, resources, clean technology and not-for-profit sectors.

“He has expertise in the management and governance of complex organisations, particularly in the fields of corporate and project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and business transformation.

“He is a former Chief Financial Officer of Transgrid, which owns and operates the largest electricity transmission network in Australia, and of DUET Group, a former ASX100 member that owned and operated five energy infrastructure businesses and utilities with operations in Australia, the US and the UK.”

Mr Conroy is the Non-Executive Chair of Birdwood DG Pty Limited which builds, owns and operates renewable power generation and battery storage in Australia.

He is a Non-Executive Director at Beca Group Limited which provides independent advisory, design and engineering consulting services in the power, water, defence and infrastructure markets across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and the South Pacific.

He is also a Non-Executive Director at Symphony Infrastructure Partners which builds, owns and operates power grid connections infrastructure in Australia, and at PWR Holdings Limited (ASX:PWH) which designs and manufactures world-leading thermal management systems for motorsport, aerospace and defence.

“On behalf of WaterNSW, I welcome Mr Conroy and look forward to working with him and our fellow Directors and the Executive as we ensure WaterNSW continues to perform its role as proud custodians of a vital natural resource,” Mr Duncan said.

Mr Conroy commenced in August 2025 for a three-year term.

Mr Duncan also acknowledged the contribution of outgoing director Bruce Berry.  “On behalf of WaterNSW I would like to thank Bruce Berry for his leadership, guidance and strong contributions to the Board,” Mr Duncan said.

The WaterNSW Board sets the overall policy, strategy and direction for WaterNSW.
