Bendeela Reserve open for school holidays

15 SEPTEMBER 2023

WaterNSW is advising the public that access to the back area of the popular Bendeela Recreation Area will open for the summer school holidays at midday on Friday, 22 September.

The gate will remain open until 4pm on Sunday (8 October).

While sites for the October long weekend are already booked out, sites for other days can be reserved via the booking system.

With large numbers of visitors expected at Bendeela throughout the holiday period, there will be limits on the number of campers entering the site.

Bookings are for a maximum of seven days to allow as many people as possible to enjoy the area. Camping remains free however there is a $6 site booking fee to cover administrative costs.

To cater for visitors over the predicted hot summer, WaterNSW will also open the back area for campers on weekends from Friday afternoons through to Sunday afternoons, commencing in October through to Easter.

Security will be on site 24/7 throughout the holiday period. There is a designated alcohol-free area on the campground.

Bendeela is a vital part of Greater Sydney’s drinking water catchment, so WaterNSW is reminding visitors to follow the rules, stay safe and respect other visitors throughout their stay.

Visitors must respect the wildlife by not patting or feeding animals, giving animals space and driving slowly around the site.
