Bendeela campground open for Easter

5 APRIL 2023

WaterNSW is preparing for a busy school holidays this Easter, especially at Bendeela camping and picnic ground in the Kangaroo Valley.

Located in the natural bushland on the banks of the Kangaroo River arm of Tallowa Dam, the back area of the site will open for campers from midday, Thursday 6 April, until 4:00pm, Tuesday 25 April.

To ensure that all visitors have a safe holiday, during this time there will be security onsite at all times, as well as regular patrols from WaterNSW staff.

Visitors should be aware that flood debris may still be present in the water and on the lake edge.

Campers are reminded that they must have a booking to stay at the site. While camping remains free, there is a small fee to cover bookings, which can be made via the WaterNSW website.

Bookings are full for the Easter long weekend, but some sites are still available at other times.

Access to Tallowa Dam is open with a one-way traffic light system in place near the recent landslip.

Campers are reminded to care for wildlife, including kangaroos and wombats, by driving slowly, avoiding driving at night, and not touching wild animals.
