Bendeela is ready for school holidays

14 DECEMBER 2022

WaterNSW is expecting Bendeela campground in Kangaroo Valley to be popular with campers and day users alike over the holidays. The back recreation area will open at 11am on Wednesday 21 December and remain open until 4:00pm Sunday 29 January 2023. The front area is open all year round.

Camping is free although a small fee is required to cover all bookings. Bookings can be made on the WaterNSW website. Bookings are almost full over the Christmas and New Year, any holiday makers wanting to visit the area at this time should make a reservation soon.

Set on the banks of the Kangaroo River, Bendeela is the perfect spot to relax and get back to nature.

Popular activities include swimming, canoeing, and fishing. The area is also full of amazing wildlife including kangaroos and wombats. Campers are reminded to drive slowly to protect local wildlife and other visitors.

WaterNSW encourages all visitors to be safe in and around the water and to be careful of flood debris that may still be present in the water and on the lake’s edge following heavy rains earlier in the year.

Security will be on site 24/7 during the holidays to ensure everyone’s safety. WaterNSW staff will also be regularly patrolling the area.
