Avon Dam

WaterNSW regrets to advise the recreational areas are closed due to maintenance activities. Visitors can enjoy the facilities at Nepean Dam as an alternate venue, see webpage for details.

Bendeela Recreational Area

Please note: Day use access to the Lake for swimming, canoeing and kayaking is open however the foreshores will remain closed. Camping (apart from at Bendeela front campground) is not permitted until remote area camps and toilets can be repaired, and tree safety assessments undertaken.

Please note: the boat ramp is closed due to low water levels/public safety until further notice.

Burrendong Dam

WaterNSW regrets to advise public access to the dam wall will be closed from Monday 10 February till the end April 2020 due to emergency drought works to pump the remaining deep storage at the dam. These works will extend water supply to meet critical human needs in the region.

The Recreation Area has re-opened however access restrictions apply. There is no access to burnt areas including the lower viewing platform. Access to the Lake is also prohibited due to the dam spilling and bushfire damage to the foreshore.

Woronora Dam

Woronora Dam is currently closed as part of an upgrade to the electrical systems at the dam. Asbestos has also been found at the site and the dam will remain closed seven days per week while a full site assessment and remediation works are completed. It is likely that the dam will remain closed for several months. This page will be updated when the dam is reopened to the public.
