Leeton flood work approvals info session

5 SEPTEMBER 2025

WaterNSW specialist staff will be in Leeton on Wednesday 10 September hosting an information session for water users to learn more about flood works and flood work approvals.

Flood work approvals ensure that the construction or use of works such as causeways, cuttings or embankments does not negatively affect water sources and dependent ecosystems, or other water users.

“Information sessions like this are all about helping our customers understand the rules, and achieve the broader goal of ensuring water sources are protected and that any current or future risks to human life and property are minimised,” a WaterNSW spokesperson said.

At the information session, helpful WaterNSW experts will discuss:

  • types of flood works
  • applying for a flood work approval or amending an existing approval
  • when exemptions may apply
  • flood study requirements
  • pre-application meetings

A presentation from 1-2pm will be followed by time for questions at the WaterNSW office, 63 Kurrajong Avenue, Leeton.

Customers may also book a time for a one-on-one meeting.
