The Red Alert is based on highly concentrated scums observed in the lake and stretches of the Paterson River. The lake is currently spilling which increases the likelihood of downstream impacts relating to the bloom. Samples have been taken and results are pending.

WaterNSW will continue to monitor water quality at key locations and will provide updates soon as results become available.
