Water schemes

As the water supply system for Greater Sydney expanded to support a growing population, major new additions to the system were called 'schemes'. Some of these no longer exist, such as the Warragamba Emergency Scheme which was replaced by Warragamba Supply Scheme. Others such as the Shoalhaven Scheme or Fish River Scheme continue to augment the system today.

Two schemes are now listed on the heritage register and each tells a fascinating part of our water history:
