WaterNSW seeking nominations for area-based Customer Advisory Groups

28 February 2022

WaterNSW is calling for nominations for membership of its Customer Advisory Groups across rural and metro NSW.

As of 1 July 2022, a new term of office will commence for Customer Advisory Groups (CAG) which includes representation from customers across regulated, unregulated and groundwater water types. The Customer Advisory Group areas are:

  • Barwon-Darling (Barwon/Darling, Mooni, Culgoa, Warrego, Paroo, North West NSW)
  • Border Rivers
  • Coastal-Hunter (Hunter, Richmond, Tweed, Brunswick, Clarence River, Macleay, Bellinger, Hastings, Manning, Karuah, Clyde, Marooya, Tuross, Bega, Towamba, Lake Georges
  • Greater Sydney (Georges, Hawkesbury/Nepean, Wollongong, Shoalhaven, Lake Macquarie/Tuggerah (Central Coast), Warragamba, Hacking, Parramatta, Sydney, Fish River)
  • Gwydir
  • Lachlan
  • Macquarie-Cudgegong (Castlereagh, Macquarie/Bogan)
  • Murray-Lower Darling (Upper Murray, Murray/Riverina, Lower Darling, Benanee)
  • Murrumbidgee (Murrumbidgee, Snowy, Lowbidgee)
  • Namoi-Peel

Nominations are now being called from recognised water user organisations and water industry groups for representation on these key area advisory groups for the 2022-25 term of office.

WaterNSW Executive Manager Customer and Community, David Stockler, said that WaterNSW is looking for water users who wish to make an important contribution to the Customer Advisory Groups. A high level of water knowledge is not a requirement as the CAGs are a good place to learn about the specifics of water in your region.

“WaterNSW views Customer Advisory Groups as an important forum for communication and consultation with our customers. Customer Advisory Groups provide a forum to regularly consult, on an area basis, with a broad cross-section of our customers on issues relevant to our performance and delivery of services to customers,” Mr Stockler said.

Membership includes WaterNSW customers who are regulated river water users, unregulated river water users, groundwater users, stock and domestic users, environmental water users, industrial and commercial water users, Local Water Utilities, major utilities, volumetric categories of customers and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage water users.

Mr Stockler recognised the valuable contribution of current Customer Advisory Group members and congratulated the outgoing Chairpersons and committee members for their time and valuable input.

Nominations close on 14 April 2022. For more information about the nomination process please contact WaterNSW on 1300 662 077 or email cag.support@waternsw.com.au
