A Red Alert warning (high alert) for blue-green algae has been issued for Burrendong Dam which is located 30 kilometres south-east of Wellington in the Central West region.

A new red alert warning (high alert) has been issued for Moama/Echuca on the Murray River. This declaration of a red alert follows testing undertaken by WaterNSW. A red alert level warning (high alert) remains in place for the Murray River between Corowa and Picnic Point, as weekly monitoring shows a potentially harmful algal bloom is persistent. WaterNSW will continue to monitor water quality at key locations and will provide updates soon as results become available.

WaterNSW has commenced releasing water from weir 32 into the Lower Darling, a return to continuous river flows for the first time since December 2018, as large volumes of water continue pouring into Lake Wetherell.
