A red alert level warning (high alert) has been issued on the Wakool River at Stoney Crossing based on a visual inspection. Water sampling is currently underway to confirm the levels of blue green algae at Stoney Creek.
Preparations extended to protect dam water quality

A recreational Red Alert warning (high alert) for blue-green algae has been issued for the Richmond River at Casino in the vicinity of Jabour Weir and the boat ramp. Sampling by Richmond Valley Council showed high levels of a potentially toxic species.

A Red Alert warning (high alert) for blue-green algae has been issued for Macquarie River downstream of Burrendong Dam which is located 30 kilometres south-east of Wellington in the Central West region.

The previously issued high level algal warnings (Red Alert) for Red Cliffs to Merbein on the Murray River have been cleared. A Red Alert remains current downstream at Curlwaa and further advice will be provided following additional monitoring.
