WaterNSW seeking public submissions

WaterNSW seeking public submissions

04 May 2020

WaterNSW is currently undertaking a statutory review of the Water NSW Regulation 2013 and is seeking submissions from stakeholders.

The purpose of the Regulation is to assist WaterNSW in meeting its objectives under the Water NSW Act 2014 with regard to the management and protection of catchment areas and catchment infrastructure works.

The Regulation gives WaterNSW the powers it needs to manage access to, and conduct in, the protected catchment areas and to the areas immediately around water supply infrastructure.

It also provides WaterNSW with the compliance powers it needs to protect water quality, and to operate effectively.

“WaterNSW is proposing to remake the Regulation with minor amendments, and we’re asking for submissions from interested parties,” WaterNSW manager of communications and engagement, David Hogan said.

“This Regulation plays an important role in allowing WaterNSW to protect water quality and operate effectively.”

The draft Water NSW Regulation 2020, and its associated Regulatory Impact Statement, will be on public exhibition from Monday 4 May until Sunday 31 May 2020 and available on the WaterNSW website at www.waternsw.com.au/regulationreview

Written comments and submissions are invited and will be accepted until Sunday 31 May 2020. Submissions or comments should be addressed to regulationreview@waternsw.com.au or by mail to:
