Temporary water restriction for Namoi and Macquarie water sources

Temporary water restriction for Namoi and Macquarie water sources

02 April 2019

Significant rainfall in the Castlereagh and Namoi rivers catchments in the early hours of Saturday morning has created river flows that are subject to temporary restrictions implemented by the NSW Government to protect this water for high priority needs.

Temporary restrictions under the Water Management Act 2000 were announced this week for water flowing in the Lower Namoi and Lower Macquarie river systems.

Water will be protected for critical human needs, stock and domestic, high security water users, and critical ecosystem needs.
