17 April 2019

The Red Alert at Macquarie River at Wellington, downstream to Geurie and extending to Dubbo has now been lifted following two consecutive results below red alert levels.

Blue-green algae concentrations have decreased significantly over the past couple of weeks, following elevated results for non-toxic cyanobacteria on 27 March.

As the Red Alert has been lifted there are no longer any restrictions on recreational activities in the river and water sources are suitable for stock and domestic use.
