Information sessions: Peel River landholders and water users to get updates on key drought projects

09 October 2019

WaterNSW is ramping up its temporary and permanent drought and water security works to extend water supplies to Tamworth and Dungowan.

As the crucial next phase of work begins to secure water for critical human needs, WaterNSW is holding information sessions for Peel River landholders on the progress of the temporary weir projects on the Peel River and construction of the permanent pipeline from Chaffey Dam to Dungowan.

Information sessions are being held on:

  • Monday, 14 October at the Dungowan Village/Recreation Grounds from 4pm-5.30 pm and the Dungowan Hotel from 7pm-8.30 pm
  • Tuesday, 15 October at the Tamworth Community Hall from 7pm-8.30 pm

As part of the sessions, WaterNSW will be updating the community on the preferred route for the pipeline and results of environmental investigations and technical requirements for construction of the temporary weir on the Peel River at Dungowan.

Those landholders interested in attending the sessions are asked to register their interest via email (waternsw.droughtresponse@waternsw.com.au) or call 1300 662 077.

Updates will be published on our website at waternsw.com.au/peelvalley
