Carryover reminder as water year end looms

Carryover reminder as water year end looms

15 May 2019

The 2018-19 water year ends on 30 June and WaterNSW customers are being advised that remaining water in accounts at that time will be subject to the carryover rules applicable to the relevant licence.

Under some Water Sharing Plans (WSP), licence holders could forfeit water on 30 June if there is more water in their account allowed under their WSP.

“To avoid forfeiting water, customers can either use or trade water before the cut-off date,” said WaterNSW executive manager customer and community, David Stockler.

“Customers need to be aware of the trading rules under their Water Sharing Plan.

“We understand that the drought is biting hard across the state and WaterNSW is committed to helping our customers and make sure they are aware of potential implications as the water year ends.

“To do that. we have improved and included new carryover features to WaterNSW’s online Water Accounting System (iWAS).

“For customers wanting to assess carryover water and maximise your available water, log in to iWAS. For those not registered, call our Customer Service team on 1300 662 077 to sign up.

“The development of new online tools and regular meetings with stakeholders to update regions on the impacts of drought reflects WaterNSW’s determination to enhance our levels of service and make it easier for our customers to run their businesses.”
