Multiple recreational areas to remain closed until further notice

WaterNSW has re-assessed the closure status of multiple recreational areas in the Greater Sydney, Shoalhaven and Illawarra areas and determined that they will remain closed until further notice in the interests of the safety of the public and our employees.

WaterNSW advises that multiple recreational areas in the Greater Sydney, Shoalhaven and Illawarra areas, including Bendeela, will remain closed until further notice in the interests of safety. WaterNSW will re-assess the closure status on Wednesday 1 January as to whether sites will be reopened from Thursday 2 January.

Temporary dam releases to bolster Tamworth supply

A recreational red alert warning (high alert) for blue-green algae has been issued for Saltwater Creek outlet to Rainbow Beach in Port Macquarie. Sampling by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has shown very high numbers of a range of species including one with the potential to produce toxins.

Pump restriction to conserve Dingo Creek flow
