Water trading resumes in Murray

Water trading resumes in Murray

26 June 2017

Water trading will resume in the Murray valley from 10am tomorrow (Tuesday, 27 June).

WaterNSW administers water trading under rules set by the Department of Primary Industries Water (DPI Water).

Trade will recommence after a WaterNSW review of regulations governing trade confirmed that, unlike many previous years, the current Murray Water Sharing Plan does not prohibit trade beyond 31 May this year.

WaterNSW is working with DPI Water to make key elements of the relevant regulations more prominent and readily available to all market participants.

These service improvements follow changes to trade scheduling implemented by WaterNSW in March this year to enhance confidence in the trade process and in market transparency.
