WaterNSW to upgrade 2.8km of Fish River pipeline

Construction, trucks
15 March 2017

WaterNSW will replace a section of the Fish River Water Supply (FRWS) pipeline from early April.

This work is being undertaken as part of the WaterNSW ongoing works program to ensure that its critical infrastructure conforms to contemporary standards, is structurally sound, well maintained and meet customers’ needs into the future.

WaterNSW Project Director, Mark Pearson, said the works will replace a 2.8 kilometre (km) section of the 54km pipeline between Oberon and Wallerawang on the FRWS network.

“As part of our management of water supply infrastructure and assets, WaterNSW regularly carries out assessment and upgrades of pipelines to ensure efficiency and reliability,” he said.

“Due to heritage listing of the existing pipeline, an additional construction width will be required to cover the installation of the new section of pipeline.”

WaterNSW undertakes a co-ordinated approach to upgrading its ageing assets and infrastructure to ensure the delivery of high quality drinking water to our customers.

This FRWS work is being undertaken by TCM Civil Pty Ltd on behalf of WaterNSW.
